A wanted fugitive living in Deerfield Beach was apprehended March 14 at his job in Pompano Beach.
The man, James Jones, 69, went under the assumed name of Bruce Keith. He was originally arrested for premeditated murder and aggravated assault in the death of a fellow Army private at Fort Dix in New Jersey. He was sentenced and sent to the penitentiary in Leavenworth, KS in 1974, but escaped three years later.
When the U.S. Marshals were brought in to work on the case, they found their man, who was arrested without incident.
