Tax free weekend August 12-14 in Broward County

Residents and visitors to Broward County are encouraged to head for the outlets, malls and flea markets and pay no sales tax – a savings of 6 percent – during Florida’s tax-free weekend, August 12-14. The special shopping weekend applies to clothing, bags and footwear under $75 per item and school supplies under $15 per item. Rash of car burglaries in Pompano, Deerfield Beach

Last night multiple car burglaries occurred in the Lyons Park & Garden Isles neighborhoods of Pompano Beach. All but one burglary involved unlocked vehicles but included thefts of valuable items. BSO is asking for anyone who may have information about these crimes to call 954.786.4200 or 954.493.TIPS. Remember to always secure your vehicles & remove valuables.

Additionally, BSO Deerfield Beach District have been seeing a spike in vehicle burglaries at the LA Fitness and surrounding businesses in the 1000 block of E. Hillsboro Blvd.  The suspects are smashing vehicle windows and removing property left inside.  Please remember to remove items of value from inside your vehicle and call 911 if you see suspicious activity.
