The Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce is hosting “60 Years of Magic on the Water” when the Pompano Beach Holiday Boat Parade, the longest-running boat parade in the nation, sets sail on Friday, December 9 at 7 p.m.

The magical parade on water gets underway at Lake Santa Barbara in Pompano Beach and proceeds north through the Hillsboro Bridge and ends at the Deerfield Beach/Boca Raton border line at Sullivan Park.

Approximately 50 boats will be bobbing and glowing with colorful lights, holiday decorations, music and merriment as thousands of spectators line the Intracoastal Waterway. Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus will be led by none other than Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer waving and welcoming everyone watching the Parade.

The emcees, judges and viewing stand will be located, dockside, at the Sands Harbor Resort and Marina located at 125 Riverside Drive. Spectator viewing bleachers will also be located at Alsdorf Park on 14th Street Causeway located at 2974 NE 14 Street.

The Parade will be live video streamed and can be viewed by logging on the Pompano Beach/ Margate/Lighthouse Point Chamber Facebook Page at: www.facebook.com/pompanobeachchamber. All those participating can vote on their favorite boat on social media for a special award!

Both the NE 14th Street Causeway and Atlantic Boulevard Intracoastal Waterway Bridges will be locked into the open position from 6:15 p.m. until the parade passes. Please seek alternate routes to and from the beach during this time.
