DEERFIELD BEACH

July 19 A man placed his keys and cell phone on the ground to play basketball at LA Fitness at 1000 E. Hillsboro Blvd. Upon returning, he realized his cell phone was stolen.

July 20 A woman reported her car parked at 400 SE 21 St. broken into and her purse stolen.

July 20 A woman was arrested and charged with DUI at 1600 E. Hillsboro Blvd. She was involved in a vehicle crash before being arrested.

July 21 A woman reported her home at 505 NW 1 Terr. burglarized. She is not sure what was stolen.

July 21 It was reported that Schulz Landscape Service at 10 Helwig Place was broken into and two SunPass transponders were stolen from unlocked pickup trucks.

July 21 A man reported being hit in the forehead with a liquor bottle while he was at the Tropicana nightclub at 4251 N. Dixie Hwy.

July 21 A man reported his home at 418 Lock Road entered and his television stolen. His car that was stolen from the parking lot was later recovered.

July 21 Two men were arrested and charged with grand theft. On July 6, they entered Target at 3599 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and stole two televisions. One man was charged with the theft on July 17. The other man was additionally charged with the grand theft. He was already in custody.

DEERFIELD – District 4

July 12 Residential burglary took place at Pine Tree apartments, at 1741 NW 2 Court. The victim’s apartment was forcibly entered via the smashed patio sliding glass door. The TV was removed. No other property was taken. Total loss was $700. The scene was processed and the area canvassed.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

July 15 A woman reported that someone entered her car parked at 5200 N. Federal Hwy. while she was pumping gas. She said that her cell phone was stolen.

July 17 A woman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, and keeping a vehicle for drugs at 5400 N. Federal Hwy.

July 12 An apartment at 1741 NW 2 Court was broken into. The patio sliding door was smashed and a television was stolen.

July 13 A woman reported her car stolen from 264 NE 45 Court.

July 13 A burglary was reported at Community Presbyterian Church at 1920 SE 5 St. Nothing was reported stolen.

July 14 A man reported that he saw two men enter his vehicle parked at 6 Helwig Terr. He ordered the men to leave.

July 14 A man reported that someone entered his car parked at 200 S. Ocean Dr. and stole his wallet.

July 14 A man was arrested and charged with petit theft. He stole $40 worth of items from Publix at 150 S. Federal Hwy.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

June 30 A woman reported that her iPhone 5 was stolen. She said her phone was placed on the hostess stand at the Sicilian Oven at 2486 N. Federal Hwy. A man was observed near the stand and then left and entered a green car. The phone was valued at $649.

July 2 A man was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia at 2100 NE 36 St.

July 1 A man reported he was sitting in his car parked at 109 SE 3 Court when two men using handguns approached him and demanded his wallet and cell phone, which he gave to them.

July 1 A man reported his home at 181 SW 5 St. entered and a television, X-360, iPad and DVD player stolen.

July 1 The laundry room at the Avalon Resort, 735 S. Ocean Dr., was entered. A coin machine was broken into and $200 was stolen.

July 2 A woman reported her car parked at 401 S. Powerline Rd. broken into and a purse stolen.

July 2 A woman reported her home at 410 NW 46 St. entered, and jewelry and a laptop computer stolen.

July 2 Someone jumped over a fence at Tecta America at 1431 SW 30 Ave. and stole copper cable.

July 2 Two men robbed a man and a woman. Using a gun they stole $500 and sunglasses. Incident took place at 2096 NE 2 St. The subjects fled on foot.

DEERFIELD – District 4

Incident began on Monday, June 10, at approximately 5:30 p.m., when the victim and her friend were at their community’s pool. They left their belongings on chairs adjacent to the hot tub. The juvenile and her two friends were in the hot tub. The juvenile stole the victim’s iTouch (MP3 player).

On June 13 in Riverglen, at 4400 NW 6 St., a maintenance employee, who had seen a security video, recognized two of the girls from the pool on July 10. The other girl identified the juvenile as having stolen an iTouch. The juvenile provided a Post Miranda warning confession. Juvenile was charged with Grand Theft.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

June 29 It was reported that a sign was stolen from Bateman, Gordon & Sands, Inc. at 3050 N. Federal Hwy. It cost $1,000 to replace the sign.

July 1 A woman reported her vehicle parked at 3260 N. Federal Hwy. burglarized. Her purse containing $300, a credit card, a cell phone and a driver’s license was stolen. Remember, if you see anything suspicious, call 911 immediately.

June 28 A home at 2726 SW 15 St. was broken into. Electronic equipment, cellphones and jewelry were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $1,500.

June 28 A home at 332 NW 3 St. was entered and a laptop computer and a tablet were stolen.

June 29 A home at 821 NE 50 St. was entered and jewelry and a laptop were stolen.

June 29 A woman reported that her home at 1421 SW 5 Terr. was entered and various items stolen. Total loss was estimated at $8,000.

June 29 A man doing renovation work on a house at 210 SW 1 Court reported that the windows and an air conditioning unit were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $750.

June 30 A car parked at 648 Siesta Key Circle was broken into. The woman who owns the car reported a window smashed. Nothing was stolen from the car, but the interior was rummaged through.

June 30 One woman and two men were seen in a vehicle stopped at a home at 900 SE 11 Ave. A neighbor witnessed the people in the vehicle pry open a shed at the property and steal a generator valued at $750. The victim was in bed with a headache during the theft.

June 30 A woman was shopping at Dollar Tree at 4008 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and noticed that someone had stolen her purse with $600, credit cards and a driver’s license.

DEERFIELD – District 4

June 25 Commercial burglary took place at Publix at 3740 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Subject stole $21 worth of beer and food from the business and left without paying for merchandise.

June 25 Commercial burglary occurred at FRSTeam, at 1919 NW 40 Ct. A representative of the company indicated that an unknown person removed a black HP laptop with a fingerprint scanner and an Apple iPad from the office. Complainant initially tracked the computer north on Powerline Road but lost contact. Loss was estimated at $1,000.

June 25 A woman reported that her car at 2121 NE 42 Court was entered and rummaged through.

June 27 A woman reported that her car at 2160 NE 42 Court was entered. Items from the glove box and the car’s interior were rummaged through.

June 21 Two men came to a home at 513 N. Ocean Blvd. When the man answered the door, one of the men struck the victim with a club. Victim believes the two men were hired to attack him. He said he has been having difficulties with his wife.

June 21 A man entered a business at 18 NE 2 Ave. A woman there reported the man stole her purse containing $250 and credit cards.

June 22 A man was arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 100 SE 10 St. The man had been stopped for an expired tag. He was found in possession of cocaine.

June 22 A man reported his home at 811 NE 51 Court broken into and $1,200 worth of items stolen.

June 22 A vehicle parked at 401 S. Powerline Rd. was broken into and miscellaneous items were stolen.

June 23 A man said a woman who was a customer at African Queen Supply at 167 W. Hillsboro Blvd. stole his house, car and business keys from a table in the showroom.

DEERFIELD — District 4

June 12 – Arrest was made at Pine Tree, 290 Lock Rd. Suspect was located at his place of former employment and was taken into custody. Post Miranda warning, the suspect admitted he used a victim’s debit card and took the money, then changed his story. Suspect was charged with Fraudulent Use of Credit Cards and Petty Theft. He was taken to Broward County Jail. In April, the suspect took the victim’s debit card and made five fraudulent withdrawals from victim’s bank account at 290 Lock Rd. This incident was captured on video surveillance and suspect was positively identified. Several attempts were made to meet with the suspect about this case, but the suspect failed to show.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

June 17 A man reported a rod and reel, and tackle, stolen from his truck parked at 2388 NE 30 Court. The rod and reel were valued at $5,100 and the tackle was valued at $60.

June 17 A woman reported that her car parked at the Publix at 2450 N. Federal Hwy. was broken into and a computer with sensitive information was stolen. The computer was valued at $200.

June 19 A vehicle parked at 3810 NE 22 Terr. was entered and $40 and aviator glasses were stolen.

June 13 A man was arrested and charged with residential burglary. He broke into a residence at 346 NW 41 St. and stole a safe containing $1,200 and medication.

June 14 A man was arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 200 W. Hillsboro Blvd. He was stopped on a traffic matter and found to be in possession of various narcotics.

June 15 A man was arrested and charged with burglary of a residence at 219 SW 1 Terr. The man attempted to assault a woman and her son.

June 16 It was reported that two men entered All Beauty Supply at 5353 N. Dixie Hwy. and stole seven wigs valued at $49.99 each and an earring. The men stole the items and fled the store.

June 16 A woman reported that someone attempted to break into her home at 1221 SW 6 Terr.

June 16 A man was stopped for an expired tag at 800 SW Natura Blvd. The man was then arrested and charged with a narcotics felony. He was in possession of cocaine.

June 16 Person reported being the victim of a strongarm robbery after being assaulted by a man who had borrowed his cell phone at 672 Siesta Key CC.

June 16 Two men were arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 300 NW 1 Terr. They were found to be in possession of crack cocaine rocks and considered to be involved with street level delivery and distribution. The car they were in was confiscated.

June 16 A woman reported her car parked at 2000 E. Hillsboro Blvd. broken into and her purse and wallet stolen. The purse contained medication, $5, a Florida driver’s license and other small items.

 

DEERFIELD — District 4

June 12 Arrest was made at Super Target, 3599 W. Hillsboro Blvd., at 8:30 a.m. In April, the suspect entered both the Deerfield Target at 3599 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and at 1200 S. Federal Hwy. and took several DVD boxed sets and fled the store without paying for them. Each account was a loss ranging from $700 – $950. During an ongoing investigation, the suspect was positively identified as the suspect. He could not be located at that time. Information was shared between several other law enforcement agencies that the same suspect had taken DVD boxed sets from Targets in their jurisdictions. On June 11, the suspect was arrested for a similar case. On June 12, detectives met the arrestee at Broward County Jail Magistrate. He did not wish to speak with detectives. Arrestee was charged with three additional grand thefts.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

June 9 The manager of Packy’s Sports Pub, at 4480 N. Federal Hwy., reported that a floor mat valued at $180 was stolen. Video surveillance showed that a regular customer stole the mat. Police contacted the man at his home and he returned the mat, saying it was a prank. The manager declined prosecution.

June 10 A woman reported that a mountain bicycle was stolen from her carport at 2801 NE 53 St.

June 11 A man was arrested and charged with felony shoplifting at CVS Pharmacy at 3580 N. Federal Hwy. The man stole $137.68 worth of items from the store. He was charged with a felony because of prior felony shoplifting convictions.

June 7 A man reported that he was the victim of a strong arm robbery at 5229 N. Dixie Hwy. He said he was attacked by four men, who stole his wallet, keys and cell phone.

June 9 A man reported his car parked at 2841 W. Hillsboro Blvd. broken into. The front passenger window was smashed. His iPhone 4S and $800 in cash were stolen.

June 9 A woman reported her home at 820 SW 12 Court burglarized. When she arrived home, she found that her bedroom had been ransacked and said items might be missing.

June 9 Two men were arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 200 SW 1 Terr. A deputy attempted a traffic stop and the driver of the car attempted to flee. The man was arrested after only making it a short distance and the man in the passenger seat was also arrested. The deputy found cocaine in the car.

June 9 A woman reported three bicycles stolen from the bicycle racks at her apartment complex at 627 Siesta Key CC.

June 9 A man reported that a man he knows threw rocks at his car, causing damage. Incident was reported at 711 NW 2 Ave.

June 9 A man reported his home at 321 NW 1 Ave. burglarized. He said that someone broke into his home and stole an air conditioning handler and copper wiring.

DEERFIELD — District 4

BSO is aware of the crimes that occurred [Tuesday morning, June 11] and want you to know that they are investigating. They do not yet know all of the details, but Chief Rob Schnakenberg has informed that their preliminary investigation shows the vehicles that were broken into were left unlocked. He said, so far, they have seen no signs of forced entry.

Upcoming Crime Watch will list each of the incidents and details surrounding those cases. As the police work to catch the criminals responsible, to be vigilant. Watch your surroundings and lock your doors, windows, and vehicles. This rash of vehicle breakins and any other crime trends to be discussed at next District 4 meeting.

May 25 Two vehicles were burglarized in the parking lot of Frank McDonough Park at 3500 NE 27 Ave. From one car: a purse with a passport, Florida driver’s license, debit card, two credit cards and a cell phone were stolen for a total loss of $1,128. From another car: a purse, wallet, house key and two debit cards were stolen for a loss of $425.

May 27 A man stole $34.77 worth of items from Publix at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. The man was stopped by the store manager and handed the items back and then fled.

May 29 A man was observed breaking into a woman’s car parked at Education Station Day Care at 2458 N. Federal Hwy. The man stole a bag containing a computer and miscellaneous papers. He entered his car and proceeded westbound on NE 25 St.

May 29 A home at 432 NW 48 Ave. was entered. The dressers in the master bedroom were ransacked and two computers, one camera and other electronic equipment were stolen. Loss was estimated at $2,400.

May 29 An apartment at 1216 S. Military Tr. was entered and several pieces of jewelry were stolen. Loss was estimated at $3,200.

May 29 A home at 1761 NW 2 St. was entered and $2,900, a portable safe and video equipment were stolen.

May 29 Someone entered a vehicle parked at 1287 E. Newport Center Dr. and stole a bag with a cell phone and credit cards.

May 29 A home at 4911 NW 9 Ave. was broken into and $12,000 worth of jewelry stolen.

May 30 A home at 564 NW 39 Terr. was broken into. Dressers in the master bedroom were ransacked.

May 30 A work van parked at 123 SW 15 St. was broken into and an electronic drill stolen.

May 30 A storage shed at Restoration Technologies at 500 SE 12 Ave. was broken into and nine tool bags were stolen. Loss was estimated at $5,000.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

May 17 Arrest was made at Sports Mall, 1101 S. Powerline Rd. Victim reported that back on Jan. 27, the suspect entered this closed business via a rear door. Once inside, he entered the rear office and removed a safe, which contained approximately $1,500 in cash and miscellaneous papers. After removing the safe and prior to exiting, the suspect wrote in black ink a derogatory statement toward the business owner directly under where the safe was located. Suspect was charged with burglary and grand theft.

May 20 Victim at Deer Creek, 3001 Deer Creek Country Club Blvd., reported she parked her vehicle in the rear parking lot and an unknown subject damaged the driver’s side door lock in an attempt to gain entry into her vehicle. No property was missing or other damage reported.

May 20 Victim at Pine Tree, 101 Lock Rd., reported that between May 14 and May 16, an unknown subject stole his 1996 Honda Accord from the south parking lot at the listed location. Teletype entry was made.

May 21 A woman reported that an unknown person used her debit card information to withdraw money from her account at Wells Fargo Bank at 3850 N. Federal Hwy. There were three fraudulent transactions for a total loss of $710.85.

May 21 A woman reported that some of her jewelry and a key to her personal safe was stolen from a case at her home at 589 Deer Creek Emerald Way. The woman believes her cleaning lady may have taken the items because she is the only person with access to the room where the jewelry and safe key were located.

May 21 A man was arrested and charged with grand theft auto. The car was later recovered. Theft was reported at 100 SW 12 Ave.

May 21 A man reported that a woman who was visiting his home at 5331 NE 10 Ave. stole prescription medication from his home.

May 21 A woman reported her car stolen from 759 SE 1 Way.

May 21 A man reported he was standing under a Tiki hut at 75 SE 21 Ave. because it was raining. A man drove up, exited the car, showed the man a gun and demanded the victim’s wallet. The man surrendered his wallet, which

contained $1,200, a credit card and a New York Driver’s License. The armed robber re-entered the car and drove away.

May 22 A man reported that someone entered his car parked at 702 NE 2 St. and stole a baby bag.

May 22 It was reported that a woman entered a CVS store and stole a package of Mariah Carey perfume valued at $20.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

May 18 Commercial burglary was reported at Deerfield Mall, 3812 W. Hillsboro Blvd, at 8:20 p.m. Defendant was observed concealing $160.88 worth of merchandise and passing all points of sale. She was detained by Loss Prevention and later issued a Notice To Appear [in court] for shoplifting.

May 19 Commercial burglary was reported at the Kwik Stop Pine Tree, 209 Lock Rd. Unknown suspect entered the business through a shattered window and took cigarettes, approximately $350 in cash, and an HP laptop computer.

May 22 Commercial burglary took place at Powerline Industrial Park, 1301 SW 34 Ave. Unknown person stole a truck battery from a company vehicle.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

May 19 A man was arrested and charged with burglary at 2780 NE 21 Terr. The man entered a patio area and stole two bottles of beer and ran before being apprehended.

May 19 A man reported a bicycle stolen from his garage at 2621 NE 49 St. The bicycle was valued at $50.

May 20 A man placed a necklace in a car owned by a woman for safe keeping. Necklace was left in the car. The woman took the car to Simoniz Car Wash to have it cleaned. After the car had been cleaned, the woman realized the necklace was missing and reported it stolen to police.

May 20 It was reported that a home at 2750 NE 51 St. was entered and ransacked.

May 17 A man was arrested and charged with burglary and grand theft at 1101 S. Powerline Rd. He committed the crime on Jan. 27. The man entered Lenny’s Sub Shop and stole a safe containing $1,500 in cash and miscellaneous papers.

May 17 A man reported that three men from a rehabilitation center were staying at his residence at 180 SW 32 Terr. The man said he believes they were involved in stealing his car and several other items from the residence.

May 17 A woman reported a burglary at her home at 601 NW 1 Way. She said that her former boyfriend broke into her home and struck her new boyfriend in the head, causing a laceration.

May 18 It was reported that a man entered a restaurant at 246 S. Powerline Rd. and stole $100 in cash from the register, a laptop computer, an iPad and an iPod. Total loss was estimated at $2,900.

May 19 A building at 1818 W. Hillsboro Blvd. was broken into through the front door. Once inside, the suspect stole 15 boxes of cigarettes and cigars. Loss was estimated at $750.

May 19 A Kwik Stop at 209 Lock Rd. was broken into, and cigarettes and a laptop computer were stolen. Loss was estimated at $350.

May 19 An unknown person jumped a fence and entered a compound at Pedrick Plumbing at 1051 SW 1 Way. Suspect rifled through two unlocked work vans and stole a gas card and a grinder.

May 19 A man reported that he saw a man smash the front passenger window of his car parked at 1000 E. Hillsboro Blvd. Nothing was stolen from the car.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

May 10 Quiet Waters Park 401 S. Powerline Rd. Unknown suspect(s) entered Quiet Waters Park at 401 S. Powerline Rd.by cutting the lock at the front gate. Suspect(s) then entered the fenced maintenance compound by also cutting the lock on that gate. Once inside, the suspect(s) removed a 4-wheel maintenance vehicle (81176). They exited the park at an unknown location. Maintenance staff searched the park; however, the vehicle was not located.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

May 14 A woman offered a ride to three people. She stopped at Capital Bank at 4820 N. Federal Hwy. to withdraw money. She went into the bank with a man, one of the three people she had given a ride to. She received $1,100 from a teller. When she left the bank, she noticed that the three people whom she had given a ride to were leaving in a van. Then she noticed that her $1,100 was missing. She reported the matter to the management of the bank.

May 15 A woman reported that while she was at the U.S. Post Office at 2091 NE 36 St., someone entered her car and stole a purse containing an iPhone, one debit card and three gift cards. Loss was estimated at $634.
