DEERFIELD BEACH

May 10 A victim reported a home burglary at 5340 NE 9 Ave. Four laptop computers and two cell phones were stolen. Value of the items lost was estimated at $1,900.

May 11 A man reported that he saw three men engage in distraction tactics against his elderly mother at her home at 390 NW 41 Way. They said they wanted to do landscaping work at the home. Two men entered the home and stole a safe containing jewelry and $1,800 in cash.

May 11 A man reported his car stolen from 959 SE 2 Ave.

May 12 A woman said her home at 611 W. Sample Rd. was broken into. A sliding glass door was smashed. Items stolen included electronic equipment, jewelry and clothing.

May 12 A woman rented tables and chairs from a company for a party at her home at 410 NE 41 St. The party took place on May 11. The woman said that on the morning of May 12, someone took two long tables and 28 folding tables that were owned by the company. Value of the items stolen was estimated at $336.

May 12 A man was walking on the sidewalk when three men attacked him. He was struck on the back of the head with an unknown object and was kicked and punched. The man reported that the men stole his wallet, sterling silver necklace and $15. Total loss was estimated at $315. Incident took place at 200 S. Dixie Hwy.

May 12 A man reported that his vehicle parked at 211 SE 14 Pl. was entered and a gun stolen.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

May 2 Arrest was made at Waterford Homes,1354 SW 27 Ave. at 10:30 p.m. On April 20, the victim’s residence was burglarized and approximately $10,000 in electronics and jewelry was removed. Suspect inadvertently dropped his baseball hat. On April 30, the Crime Lab provided Crime Investigation with D.N.A. results, identifying the subject. On May 2, detectives interviewed Eric Redding at the North Broward Jail. He denied committing the burglary, being in Deerfield Beach or ever wearing the hat. He was charged with Burglary Dwelling and Grand Theft.

May 9 Commercial burglary occurred at Sports Authority, 3810 W. Hillsboro Blvd. The manager of the store reported that at approximately 1:36 p.m., three suspects selected three golf clubs valued at an estimated total of $1,200 and fled the store, driving away in an older model Toyota Corolla. Employees delayed calling police until the Regional Office was contacted. The surveillance video was submitted with the report.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

May 7 A woman reported that while she was at the U.S. Post Office at 2091 NE 36 St., her car was entered and her purse — with a Pennsylvania driver’s license, $300 in cash and two debit cards — was stolen. One card was used at a gas station before both cards were cancelled.

May 7 The store manager at Publix at 2450 N. Federal Hwy. detained a man who stole sinus spray medication and Sudafed. Value of the items was $12.43. The man was issued a trespass warning and released.

May 3 A home at 820 Tivoli Circle was broken into and jewelry and watches were stolen.

May 3 A woman reported her home at 124 SE 11 Court entered and her dog taken.

May 3 A man reported his home at 530 SE 3 St. broken into and a digital camera, iPod and three jars of coins stolen.

May 3 A woman was arrested and charged with grand theft. Earlier, on April 11, she entered her mother’s bedroom and stole a digital camera valued at $300. She then sold the camera for $70 to a pawn shop.

May 4 A man reported his tailgate stolen from his vehicle parked at 4570 NW 6 St. Value of the tailgate was estimated at $1,200.

May 4 A car parked at 2363 SW 15 St. was entered and a wallet containing credit cards and power tools were stolen. Loss was estimated at $220.

May 4 A man reported his home at 618 Emerald Way W. entered into and money and two guns stolen.

May 4 A man was arrested and charged with felony narcotics at 166 SW 3 St. He was seen loitering on a property and found to be in possession of cocaine.

May 5 A man was arrested and charged with felony narcotics at 100 SW 3 St. He was found to be in possession of cocaine.

May 5 A man was arrested and charged with burglary of a dwelling and grand theft. On March 25, the man entered a home at 269 SE 8 Ave., ransacked it, then stole $5,000 worth of property — including electronics, jewelry and other items. The man was located on May 4. Arrest was recorded on May 5.

 

DEERFIELD District 4

May 2 Commercial burglary was reported at Enterprise Commerce Center, 1501 Green Rd. Complainant, who represents Storage and Moving Inc., reported that between 7 p.m. on May 1 and 7 a.m. May 2, unknown person(s) took eight truck batteries from three trucks parked at this location. Area was canvassed, with negative results.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

April 29 A physician’s office at 5340 N. Federal Hwy. reported that a former receptionist wrote prescriptions for drugs. The woman was reported for fraud and embezzlement.

May 1 Police questioned a man for having chemicals in his possession often used in the manufacture of methamphetamines. Police did not have enough evidence to make an arrest. Incident took place at 3400 NE 21 Ave.

May 2 A woman reported that an online account was opened in her name. She was alerted to the situation by the Social Security Administration. Incident was reported at 2829 NE 32 St.

April 25 A man was arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 200 SW 1 Terr. He was found in possession of cannabis and cocaine.

April 26 A man reported that $3,000 was stolen from his room at the Doubletree Hotel at 100 Fairway Dr.

April 26 A woman reported her residence entered at 199 SE 7 St. While stealing an iPad, the thief helped himself to ice cream from her freezer.

April 27 A woman reported that while she was shopping at Publix at 3740 W. Hillsboro Blvd. someone Remember, if you see anything suspicious, call 911 immediately. stole her Florida driver’s license and a check card from her purse. The woman’s bank called her and told her that the card had been used to make purchases at Publix and Walgreens.

April 27 Two women were eating at Tijuana Flats at 278 S. Federal Hwy. While they were eating, a man walked in and stole each woman’s cell phone.

April 28 A man reported that his backpack was stolen from him while he was at the beach at 2100 E. Hillsboro Blvd. The backpack contained a cell phone, a wallet with $200 in cash, a Florida driver’s license and miscellaneous items.

 

DEERFIELD—Dist. 4

April 14 Residential burglary was reported in Deer Creek, at 574 Emerald Way E. Victim stated that the unknown subject broke the rear slider door lock and entered the residence. Subject then removed items from a freestanding jewelry box. Loss is unknown at this time. The victim indicated he did not notice the broken lock until 10 p.m., when he went to lock the door. April 15 The manager of CVS Pharmacy at 3580 N. Federal Hwy. reported that a woman stole more than 100 items of deodorant and body wash from the store. Total loss was estimated at about $1,000. A woman was seen on video surveillance taking the items.

April 18 Someone broke into a house at 2714 NE 31 St. and stole jewelry and a television. The house was ransacked.

April 19 A man reported that, while he was asleep in his home at 297 Deer Creek Blvd., someone entered his patio and stole his bicycle.

April 20 A man was observed taking property from an apartment at 4384 NW 9 Ave. Victims of the theft reported that a television, the- Remember, if you see anything suspicious call 911 immediately. ater system and X-box were stolen.

April 20 An employee dropping off a work vehicle at Royal Palm Roofing, 73 SW 9 St. saw a man steal a battery from a truck. The man fled the scene in a car.

April 20 A man reported that a gun was stolen from his bedroom in his home at 1674 SE 8 Ave. The man believes the gun may have been stolen by a man who cares for his sister.

April 20 A woman was detained for shoplifting at Publix at 150 S. Federal Hwy. The woman was issued a notice to appear in court.

April 20 A woman reported that her car parked at 100 SE 21 Ave. was broken into and her purse stolen.

April 21 A man was involved in a physical altercation with several people at 800 NE 42 St. The man reported that one of the people involved stole his wallet and cell phone.

April 21 A man was arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 100 SW 3 Ave. He was a passenger in a car stopped for running a stop sign. He was found in possession of MDMA.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

April 12 Residential burglary was reported at Crystal Key Pointe,1000 E Lakes Dr. at 6:42 p.m. Unknown subject(s) entered the location via smashed sliding glass door in the master bedroom. The master bedroom was ransacked. Various jewelry and one laptop computer were taken. Two pillowcases were removed, possibly used to remove stolen items valued at approximately $4,500. Scene was processed for fingerprints with negative results.

April 15 A police officer reported an incident of vandalism at Shop Smart at 2001 NE 39 St. The front window was smashed.

April 18 A home at 2714 NE 31 St. was broken into and jewelry, a television and miscellaneous items were stolen. The family room was ransacked.

April 13 A man was arrested and charged with a narcotics felony at 200 S. Dixie Hwy. He had two small bags of powder cocaine.

April 13 Following a traffic stop over a stop sign violation, two men were arrested and charged with narcotics felonies. Both men were found in possession of crack cocaine. One man was in possession of $1,925. The incident took place at 1436 SW 1 Terr.

April 13 A man reported that a laptop computer was stolen from his office at 1430 S. Federal Hwy.

April 14 A man reported that two men wearing red hoodies came from behind him and placed him in a chokehold at 831 NE 52 Court. One man said he had a gun. The suspects stole the man’s wallet, necklace, diamond ring and the keys to his home and car.

April 14 A man reported that an unknown person broke into his home at 574 Deer Creek Emerald Way E. Items were stolen from a freestanding jewelry box. It is unknown how much was stolen.

April 14 A man reported his car parked at 2233 SW 15 St. was entered. The items stolen included sunglasses, a SunPass, $15 and an insulated grocery bag. Total loss was estimated at $145.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

April 8 Commercial burglary was reported at Paragon Theater, 3984 W. Hillsboro Blvd. The theater director reported that his accounting firm discovered that the business was missing numerous cash bank deposits from 09/22/12 to 11/20/12 totaling $24,438. Suspects are three managers who had access to the safe.

April 10 Arrest was made at Eunique Collections, 1694 W. Hillsboro Blvd. On 03/30/13, suspect was a customer of Eunique Collections. She entered the fitting room with three sets of clothes and came out with one, which she purchased. She removed the sensors from the other two and hid them in her purse, removing them from the store without paying. She later sold them to a friend for $40. On 04/10/13, she was located and arrested. Post Miranda warning, she confessed. She was charged with petty theft and dealing in stolen property.

April 8 A man reported his vehicle entered at 2361 NE 49 St. and a wallet and gym bag stolen.

April 8 A woman reported her bicycle stolen from 4741 NE Terrace, #1.

April 9 A man reported his jeep stolen from the driveway of his home at 2151 NE 48 St.

April 4 A woman reported her residence at 2031 Deercreek Wildwood N. was broken into and jewelry was stolen.

April 4 A woman reported her vehicle parked at 740 NE 41 St., Tallman Pines Rentals, entered and a perfume bottle and a watch stolen.

April 4 A man reported his van parked at 540 SE 2 Ave. and 10 fishing rods and reels stolen. Loss was estimated at $3,500.

April 5 Someone broke into a second-floor condominium at 1953 SW 15 St., #76, and stole jewelry, a television, a laptop and an Xbox. Loss was estimated at $2,100.

April 5 A woman reported her purse with wallet, two credit cards, a Florida driver’s license and $400 taken from her car.

April 6 A home at 345 NW 46 St. was entered via a back window. A laptop, cell phone, watch, jewelry and cash were stolen. Loss was estimated at $4,210.

April 7 A man’s residence at 269 SE 8 Ave. was broken into. The man’s car keys and his girlfriend’s car keys were taken. A tracking device was placed on both cars. The thief came back and took the woman’s car. The car was tracked and the driver bailed out of the car. The man was arrested and charged with auto theft.

April 7 A man reported that two men entered a storage area at 1409 SE 8 Ave. and stole a Go- Ped valued at about $200.

DEERFIELD District 4

April 2 Commercial burglary was reported at JM Family Enterprises, Inc., 519 Jim Moran Blvd. JM Corporate Security Brian McDonald reported the theft of a Dell laptop computer valued at $1,500. It was placed in FCIC/NCIC. Incident occurred between 10 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. on April 1.

April 2 Commercial burglary was reported at Target, 3599 W. Hillsboro Blvd., at 6:42 p.m. Loss prevention reported subject entered the store and utilized a hand-held shopping cart. Subject loaded the cart with 5 DVD box sets of different TV shows valued at $970.Subject exited without paying for the merchandise. Video surveillance was provided.

April 2 Arrest was made at 1700 W. Hillsboro Blvd. at 7:40 p.m. In November, victim had her vehicle window smashed and her purse stolen. Investigation revealed a latent hit for suspect. On April 2, suspect was located and brought to the district office. Suspect was uncooperative and requested his attorney. He was charged with burglary conveyance and transported to Broward County Jail.

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

March 29 The front door at 1809 NE 24 St. was smashed. The store was entered and$240 was stolen from the cash register.

April 2 Two batteries were stolen from a truck parked at Seafood World Restaurant at 4602 N. Federal Hwy.

March 30 A vacant home at 3390 SW 4 St. was broken into and power tools were stolen. Loss was estimated at $300.

March 30 A man was arrested and charged with grand theft at 1577 SW 1 Way. The man stole chemicals from O’Hanrahan Consultants and sold them under the table. Loss was estimated at $826. He admitted to the theft.

March 30 A man was arrested and charged with felony narcotics at 149 SE 4 St. The man was riding a bicycle and was observed throwing a substance to the ground. A field test revealed it was cocaine.

March 31 A man reported his home at 1481 SW 5 Ave. broken into and clothing stolen.

March 31 A man reported his vehicle stolen from a driveway at 269 SE 8 Ave. The thief used a spare key that was stolen from a residential burglary that had taken place earlier. Vehicle was recovered in Pompano Beach. It was occupied and the subject fled the vehicle.

March 31 A man reported that his truck was stolen from his driveway at 1167 SE 9 Ave. Suspect took property from the car, placed it in a cooler and a garbage bag and threw it into the victim’s yard. A gun was found inside the cooler.

March 21 Three residential burglaries were reported in Crystal Heights on this date. • In the first, (2679 SW 10 Dr.) at 11:47 a.m., victim reported that while he was at work between 9 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., unknown suspect(s) smashed the rear slider and entered his home. Inside, they took a pillowcase and gathered assorted jewelry valued at approximately $10,000. Scene was processed. • The second, (1273 SW 27 Ave.) at 2:42 p.m., complainant reported that between 8:40 and 11 a.m. unknown person(s) broke into his residence. Point of entry (POE) was a rear glass door that was smashed. Taken from the residence was approximately $13,000 in valuables. This included I-phones, iPads, jewelry and a MacBook computer. Scene was processed and the area was canvassed. • The third (1368 SW 27 Ave.) was reported at 4:27 p.m. Complainant stated that between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. unknown person(s) broke into her residence. POE was a rear glass sliding door that was smashed. Residence was ransacked but nothing was reportedly taken. Scene was processed for latent fingerprints and the area was canvassed.

March 22 A GPS unit was stolen from a boat at 4821 NE 29 Ave.

March 22 Two store clerks were arrested in charged with petty theft at T.J. Maxx at 3722 N. Federal Hwy. They were observed stealing clothing, money and two store cards.

March 27 A man was issued a trespass warning after being observed stealing food from 7-Eleven at 5200 N. Federal Hwy.

March 22 A woman reported her car stolen from 1321 SE 2 Ave.

March 24 A home at 3375 SW 4 St. was entered through a rear sliding glass door. The home was ransacked and a generator, two Kindle Fire Tablets and two credit union checkbooks were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $1,400.

March 24 A home at 3390 SW 4 St. was entered through an unlocked rear window. Tools were stolen. The home is under renovation.

March 24 A man reported his home at 3380 SW 4 St. entered through an unlocked door. A Kindle Tablet and USB cord were stolen.

March 24 The front door window at Top Notch Bicycle Shop at 1574 SE 3 Court was smashed. Three bicycles were then stolen. Total loss was estimated at $12,500.

March 24 As a woman entered her vehicle at 365 S. Federal Hwy., a man snatched her purse from her left arm. The man entered a waiting car that drove off.

March 24 Someone entered a car parked at 131 W. Hillsboro Blvd. through an unlocked rear window and stole a checkbook.

DEERFIELD – District 4

March 19 Conveyance burglary occurred at Deerfield Mall, 3900 W. Hillsboro Blvd.Victim parked to the rear of the Deerfield Mall to walk her children to Quiet Waters Elementary School. Upon returning to her vehicle, she found the passengerside window smashed out and her black handbag missing from the floorboard. No suspects were seen and the vehicle was processed. The purse contained credit cards, jewelry, a driver’s license and an uncashed paycheck. Loss was $525.

March 20 Commercial burglary was reported at Tire Kingdom, 2525 W. Sample Rd. Complainant, who is the manager, reported that between 3 and 4 p.m. this date, unknown persons stole a laptop and a car scanner, total value of $10,500, from the business office. Complainant said that a male described as 20 to 30 years old, 5’9″, asked to use the bathroom located next to the office. The subject then left. After a short time, they discovered the items missing. Surveillance video will be reviewed by corporate office.

March 20 Conveyance burglary took place at Deerfield Sports Complex, 3650 SW 10 St. Victim returned to his vehicle and found his passengerside door open and some of his belongings scattered on the ground. Subject gained entry by breaking the passenger door lock. Subject took victim’s wallet with credit cards.

March 14 A woman was detained for stealing two bottles of wine from Publix at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. The store manager did not press charges, but the woman was issued a trespass warning.

March 17 A woman reported her bicycle stolen from 3800 NE 21 Ave.

March 18 A man reported that someone entered his home at 2730 NE 30 Ave. and stole two television sets. Remember, if you see anything suspicious, call 911 immediately.

March 15 A man reported his car stolen from 1110 S. Military Trail.

March 15 A woman reported that her husband was kidnapped from 900 NE 48 St., Lot 63. She saw him driving a vehicle with another man in the vehicle. She called him on his cell phone. He answered and said that the man next to him had a gun and that he was the victim of a carjacking.

March 16 A home at 4329 NW 3 Ave. was broken into and two laptops, an iPhone, three watches, a camera, camera earphones, $500 in cash, and a box of quarters valued at about $400 was stolen. Total loss was estimated at $3,245.

March 16 A woman reported her home at 4331 NW 3 Terr. broken into and ransacked. She said a laptop and a camera were stolen.

March 17 A man was arrested at 417 NE 1 Ave. on an active violation of probation warrant for delivering cocaine.

March 17 A man reported his utility trailer stolen from 1601 SW 11 Way.

March 17 A woman parked her car at Target at 1200 S. Federal Hwy. When she exited, a man knocked her down, stole her purse and fled in a gray-colored vehicle being driven by a woman.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

March 9 Burglary was reported at 1520 S. Powerline Rd. at 4:09 p.m. A business vehicle, 2012 Ford van, was parked at the rear of the location overnight. An An unknown suspect gained entry and unlocked the rear cargo door. Once inside, the suspect removed a spare tire from the cargo area. Estimated loss was $200.

March 11 Conveyance burglary was reported at Radio Shack, 3760 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Victim stated that approximately 7:30 p.m., two unknown females entered the store and remove a power adapter.

March 11 A man reported a burglary on his boat at 2530 NE 31 Court. A Garmin GPS valued at $5,500 was stolen.

March 6 A woman reported her vehicle stolen from 165 SE 4 Ave. The woman said her home had been burglarized and she believes the person who stole her car may have stolen the key to her vehicle during the burglary.

March 8 It was reported that a home at 18 Little Harbor Way was burglarized. Two televisions and two laptop computers were stolen for a total loss of $3,000.

March 8 A man was arrested and charged with stealing two televisions from Target at 1200 S. Federal Hwy.

March 9 A man reported his motorcycle stolen from 632 Trace Circle.

March 9 Someone broke into a van parked at 1520 S. Powerline Rd. and stole a spare tire.

March 9 A residence at 1001 NW 45 St. was entered and two gold rings, one gold bracelet and a gold necklace were stolen. Total loss was estimated at $16,500. The owner of the property believes that a man who recently moved out used his spare key to enter the residence.

March 10 A woman reported that two men approached her at 1200 W. Hillsboro Blvd. One man knocked the woman off her bicycle and grabbed her gold chain. Both men ran away.

 

DEERFIELD District 4

Feb. 10 Auto theft was reported at 3840 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Person reporting advised that the vehicle was parked in the Aldi shopping plaza lot on Feb. 5 at 12:30 a.m., after a flat tire. When the person came back the next day, the vehicle was missing from the lot. After checking with all towing companies in the area with negative results, the person contacted BSO. Tow log was checked and the vehicle was not entered. Affidavit was completed.

Feb. 27 Residential burglary occurred in the Gates of Hillsboro at 280 NW 41 Ave. Between 9:45 a.m. and 1:30 p.m., an unknown suspect broke a window to the master bedroom to gain entry. Suspect targeted the master bedroom and stole a laptop computer. (Total loss: approximately $500.) The crime scene was processed.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

March 6 A man left his wallet on a counter at the U.S. Post Office at 2091 NE 36 St. When he returned to the counter, he noticed the wallet had been taken. The man then reported two purchases made on one of his cards.

March 6 The manager of a McDonalds at 4830 N. Federal Hwy. requested that a man who has been pouring fountain sodas into a cup be issued a trespass warning not to return to the restaurant.
