DEERFIELD BEACH

July 30. The Emerald Beach Resort at 660 NE 21 Ave. reported that the office was broken into and a cash box containing $200 was stolen.

July 30. A man was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics at 1200 S. Federal Hwy. He was in possession of pills that were considered a controlled substance.

July 31. A woman reported that her vehicle was broken into and a purse was stolen. Theft took place at 201 E. Sample Rd.

July 31. A man reported his home at 920 Rich Dr. was broken into. He reported that licenses, credit cards, money, a laptop computer and a television were stolen.

July 31. Loss prevention at Bealls on 1079 S. Federal Hwy. reported that two young men stole a shirt and jewelry for a total value of $187.

July 31. A woman was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. She was verbally abusive and kicked an unmarked police car during an investigation. The incident took place at 123 NE 20 Ave.

July 31. A man reported that an employee collecting rent money for a total of $5,200 in cashier’s checks and cashed checks refused to the turn the money over to the victim. The incident took place at 216 SE 19 Ave.

July 31. A man was arrested and charged with trespassing after entering a woman’s home without being invited in at 322 N. Federal Hwy. The woman reported she had dated the man, but they had broken up.

July 31. A woman was arrested and charged with trespassing after refusing to leave a property at 1638 Riverview Rd. The woman’s boyfriend was being arrested.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

July 20. A family reported their home at 5051 NE 24 Ave. was broken into. They reported four firearms and cases for the weapons stolen. They reported an iPod and jewelry stolen. They also reported that a number of other valuable items were not stolen.

July 23. A store manager at McDonalds at 4830 N. Federal Hwy. reported her bicycle stolen.

July 23. A man was arrested on a warrant for possession of marijuana at 2241 NE 35 Court.

July 23. A woman reported a stolen tag from her trailer at 2631 NE 20 Ave.

July 25. A woman reported that a mango tree was stolen from her front yard at 2233 NE 24 St.

July 23. A man was observed entering a Radio Shack at 665 S. Federal Hwy. and stealing three SunDisk MP3 players.

July 24. A woman reported a firearm stolen from her. The report was made at 4155 NW 5 Dr.

July 24. A woman reported her home at 4930 NE 10 Ave. broken into and a laptop computer, iPod Touch and jewelry stolen.

July 24. A report was made that a BB gun was fired at the window of Charm City Burgers at 1136 E. Hillsboro Blvd.

July 24. A woman reported that someone opened the rear sliding glass door to her home at 1444 SE 15 Court and stole her 42-inch flat screen television.

July 24. A man was seen driving up to a vehicle parked at 1041 E. Hillsboro Blvd. and stealing a Samsung MP3 player.

July 24. A woman was arrested and charged with stealing $74.95 worth of items from Wings at 2020 NE 2 St.

July 24. A man was arrested and charged with stealing a pressure cleaner from a pickup truck parked at 300 N. Ocean Blvd.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

Follow up on Burglary Arrests – Gates of Hillsboro/Deer Run/Waterford

July 5 BSO deputies responded to the 2700 block of SW 15 Street (Waterford Homes) where suspect(s) entered the residence by smashing the rear slider window. Several items were taken, including an iPad. Detectives used investigative technology to locate the iPad and later arrested the suspect. Detectives are still working to determine if the suspect was linked to other crimes in the area.

July 8 BSO deputies responded to a burglary in progress in Deer Run. Suspects entered an occupied home through the front door and removed property. Approximately 90 minutes later, a second in-progress burglary was called in by an alert neighbor in the Gates of Hillsboro. Armed with a description of the suspect vehicle, deputies apprehended one of three suspects after they fled on foot in the 600 block of W. Sample Road. Vehicle was recovered with stolen property from both residential burglaries. During the follow-up investigation, a third burglary from Coconut Creek was cleared. Detectives are still working leads to determine if these suspects are connected with other crimes in the area.

July 15 Burglary to a business was reported at Audio Visual Innovations, 730 S. Military Trail between 5:30 p.m. and 8:45 a.m. the following day. Unknown person(s) gained entry into the business’ storage overflow warehouse, possibly by the unlocked front door, and removed approximately 36 various sizes of flat panel display monitors, valued at approximately $67,400. CSIA processed with negative results. Digital photos were taken of what were possibly the suspect’s vehicle tire tracks. No video or witness located. CI unit advised.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

July 13. A man was given a trespass warning and asked not to return to a Publix Supermarket at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. Store personnel said he was yelling profanities.

July 15. A woman reported that a front lense was stolen from her Toyota Corolla at 3731 NW 29 Ave.

July 19. A police officer investigating wave runner thefts noticed that one wave runner was missing from a trailer designed to carry two wave runners at 3516 NE 31 Ave. The officer found that the owner of the home where the trailer was parked was away. He asked a neighbor about the situation and was told that homeowner did own two wave runners and it appeared that one wave runner had been stolen. The officer reported a stolen wave runner.

July 19. A Jet Ski was reported stolen at 4010 NE 31 Ave. Officers observed two suspects fleeing when the saw police approaching them.

Deerfield Beach

July 12 A man visiting Deerfield Beach from Lantana threw a sandwich, a roll with tuna fish inside, to the beach several feet from his seated position. The sandwich caused numerous wild birds to accumulate near a couple lying on a blanket. Arrestee stated he was not littering, just feeding the birds. He was given a city notice to appear and was trespassed from the beach.

July 13 Patrick Damico, of Pompano, was arrested after being caught taking items off the shelves and returning them with receipts obtained from outside the store.

July 14 During a narcotics investigation, Bernadin Etiene was arrested for possession of cocaine with intent, possession of marijuana with intent and resisting without violence. Jean Joseph was charged with driving with a suspended license, (habitual) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. A Smith and Wesson .357 was recovered. Joseph is also a documented gang member.

July 15 Terry Cyrus was arrested for a fraudulent $3,500 check at Chase Bank.

July 15 A newly purchased and tagless 2006 Hitong Scooter, blue/silver in color, was stolen from Crabby Jack’s on Federal Highway.

July 15 Almost $4,000 in electronics and jewelry were stolen from a home on NW 42 Court.

July 17 A victim answered a Craigslist ad and brought his $350 black frame, chrome deck, three-wheeled go-ped to a location on NE 6 Avenue. A black male, possibly named “Jonathan,” took it for a test drive and never returned it.

July 18 Televisions worth $67,400 were stolen from a business’ overflow warehouse on S. Military Trail.

 

DEERFIELD — District 4

July 7 Residential burglary arrest was made in Deer Run, 387 NW 34 Terr., late evening. Victim heard an unknown suspect knocking at the door. When she looked out the window, she observed an orange/red Kia SUV. Subject then began to enter the front door, so victim locked herself and her sister in her room. Suspects then left the residence.

A short time later, a second residential burglary occurred in this zone, where the same vehicle description was provided and four black males were seen fleeing in the vehicle. Witness provided a tag and suspect vehicle was seen fleeing south on Powerline Road. Suspects bailed out of the vehicle in Pompano. A perimeter was established and K9 and BSO helicopter assisted. One suspect was located and positively identified by a witness after he was propositioned for a ride. Investigation revealed recovered stolen property from three residential burglaries. Investigation ongoing.

July 7 Conveyance burglary was reported in Deer Creek at 3275 Lakeshore Dr. During the nighttime hours, unknown suspect(s) entered victim’s vehicle via unlocked door and removed coins/GPS/Radar detector — loss $650. Scene was processed/no video.

July 10 Conveyance burglary was reported in Riverglen, 545 NW 48 Ave., Riverglen  between 9 p.m. July 10 and 9 a.m. July 11.Victim advised that unknown suspect(s) broke into her vehicle by smashing the front passenger window. Suspect(s) stole her paycheck and various paperwork with her personal information from the glove box. Also stolen were three pairs of new kids shoes. Loss estimated at $100. Latents recovered. No video in area.

July 12 Auto theft was reported in an enclave at the Waterways apartments, 4363 SW 10 Place.  between 11 p.m. July 12 and  8 a.m. July 13. Complainant stated that unknown person(s) had stolen her vehicle parked at this location. Vehicle was entered into FCIC/NCIC and the area was canvassed.

July 12 Auto theft arrest was made at 101 Freedom Court, Independence Bay. Deputy met with complainant, who reported that between 7 p.m. on July 12 and 9 a.m. on July 13 unknown person(s) removed a vehicle parked at this location. Vehicle was entered into FCIC/NCIC and the area was canvassed. Later during his shift, the same deputy observed the stolen vehicle driving in the area of the Village Inn Motel at 1250 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Recognizing the vehicle as the same one he had entered into teletype earlier, the deputy made a traffic stop and took the suspect, a known drug offender, into custody. Because of this deputy’s efforts and the subsequent interview, two grand theft auto cases were cleared.

July 16 Residential burglary was reported at Sally Beauty Supply, 3904 W. Hillsboro Blvd., at 2:30 a.m. Deputy responded to an alarm call and upon arrival, found the front window smashed out. Interior checked with negative results. Subject took approximately $500 in merchandise. Scene was processed.

July 17 Grand theft was reported at the Waterways apartments, 4361 SW 10 Place, between 10:15 p.m. June 17 and 8 a.m. June 18. Victim said unknown suspect(s) stole all four tires/rims off a 2001 Honda.

 

Lighthouse Point

July 7 A home on NE 20 Avenue had its door pried open from the frame and a second interior door also forced open. A 42” television, a stamp collection, an EBT food stamp card, a garage door opener and a comforter were stolen.

July 11 An unlocked car on NE 27 Street had an XM radio and EmoTivo EPOC (Human Computer Interaction Device for children with disabilities) missing from car.

July 11 Wheels from a 2011 Cadillac Platinum Edition Escalade were stolen on NE 30 Court. The tires were worth $10,200. A vehicle parked on NE 29 Street also had its wheels stolen.

July 9 A man reported his vehicle stolen from the 300 block of NE 38 Street.

July 9 A man was arrested and charged with possession of narcotics at the 100 block of NE 1 Terrace.

July 9 A woman reported her purse stolen with credit card, cash and cell phone on the 200 block of SE 21 Avenue.

July 10 A woman reported that her rear left car window was smashed and her purse stolen on the 400 block of S. Powerline Road.

July 10 A man was arrested and charged with domestic violence after punching a woman at the 800 block of Spring Circle.

July 10 A man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault after making threats, pointing a gun at people and firing shots into the air on the 300 block of SW 3 Avenue.

July 10 A woman reported that a man threatened to kill her and two other women on the 5000 block of NE 5 Terrace.

July 10 A man reported his vehicle broken into and a Coach purse and man’s wallet stolen at 400 N. Powerline Rd.

 

DEERFIELD – District 4

July 5 Grand theft occurred between 2 p.m., June 28 and 12:30 p.m., July 5 in Deer Run, 3230 SW 1 St. Unknown person stole the internal parts and a piece of the outside air conditioner unit from this location.

July 6 Residential burglary was reported at 3497 Palladian Circle at 10:15 a.m. Deputies responded to a residential alarm at this address, where a check of the exterior revealed the rear screen patio door ajar and the sliding glass window shattered. A perimeter was quickly established. BSO helicopter was on scene. A check of the interior by deputies revealed it was vacant with numerous valuables in plain view (laptop, camera, cell phone, etc). Resident stated everything inside the home looked normal and undisturbed.

July 6 Residential burglary took place during evening hours at 2706 SW 15 St., Waterford. BSO deputies responded to the scene to find a shattered sliding glass door. Detectives worked the case through the night. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the case, and the investigation is ongoing. If you see suspicious activity, call 911 immediately.

June 29 Two transformers were reported stolen from Beacon Light Partners Unlimited on the 2400 block of N. Federal Highway.

June 30 A man reported his truck stolen from the 2200 block of NE 44 Street. The truck contained five scuba tanks.

July 1 A man was issued a trespass warning after becoming unruly at SunTrust Bank on the 3800 block of N. Federal Highway.

July 1 A man reported his American flag and flag pole stolen from his home on the 1900 block of NE 30 Court.

July 2 A woman was arrested and charged with driving without a valid driver’s license on the 2700 block of N. Federal Highway.

June 27 A victim on NW 4 Avenue had her home burglarized and $6,500 in jewelry stolen.

June 28 A home on Crystal Lake Drive had its sliding rear door broken and $1,500 in jewelry stolen.

June 29 An unidentified victim is the subject in a death investigation off NE 3 Avenue. No other information is available.

July 1 A Jaguar and a Lexus were taken from near SE 12 Ave. Two black male juveniles were arrested for this case and for another case where a shed was broken into.

July 2 A car parked near the beach had its lock punched out and a laptop, left in the side seat stolen.

July 2 A complainant on NE 10 Avenue said he woke up to gun shots outside his residence and one projectile entered a home on NE 10 Avenue. Five spent shell casings and one spent cartridge were found.

July 2 A building on SW 13 Drive had two A/C units stolen worth $5,000.

 

DEERFIELD — District 4

June 25 Arrest was made in a conveyance burglary at The Preserve in Deer Creek at 3:43 p.m. Deputies responded to a possible burglary in progress, where a man was seen breaking into cars. Attempts were made to locate subject or a victim with negative results. While detectives were working a burglary operational plan, detectives observed a subject matching the description of the subject listed above and contacted him. Consent to search was given and marijuana and a GPS were located. After Miranda rights were read, suspect (and his girlfriend) admitted to going into vehicles in the area. Investigation revealed two confirmed conveyance burglaries in Deer Creek — which suspects admitted to — and additional stolen items were recovered. Suspects were arrested and transported to Broward County Jail. Investigation ongoing.

June 25 Arrest was made in a grand theft at Deer Creek, 5257 W. Lakes Drive at 3:30 p.m. During an ongoing investigation, suspect was identified after taking victim’s jewelry and pawning it. Suspect agreed to come to the office. After Miranda rights were read, suspect admitted to taking victim’s property and pawning it for money. Suspect was arrested and taken to Broward County Jail.

June 26 Conveyance burglary was reported between 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at Latino Restaurant, 1745 W. Hillsboro Blvd. Victim reported she parked her vehicle at listed location, went to work there and when she returned, she observed her right passenger window smashed. Subject removed victim’s purse, containing $400 in cash, total loss valued at $650. Scene was not processed due to weather.

 

LIGHTHOUSE POINT

June 21 The copper wiring was stolen from a business on N. Federal Highway.

June 22 A total of eight wheels, worth almost $10,000, were stolen from Sheehan Pontiac.

June 23 A suspect was apprehended at Publix after shoplifting food from the store at 3700 N. Federal Highway.

DEERFIELD BEACH

June 20 While driving on NE 1 Terrace, an officer saw a suspect vehicle driving and chased it before two black males eventually fled the car. A BOLO was issued and the two suspects, Jagqhon Wigley and Tevin Brown were arrested for theft of the vehicle.

June 22 Thieves stole a laptop from a business on NE 2 Street.

June 22 A home on SW 12 Court had three cameras, a 42” LCD flat screen LG Television, an iMac desktop, an HP laptop, a large amount of jewelry, medals  and other items stolen.

June 23 A vacant home on NW 38 Court was burglarized and two mattresses, two fuse boxes and the compressor for the fridge were stolen. Thieves attempted to take the A/C, but were unable to.

June 24 Lukes Louis and Hannah Rodriguez were arrested for burglarizing multiple vehicles in Deer Creek.

June 26 Victim allegedly placed $17,000 worth of jewelry into a storage unit outside her apartment building that went missing.

June 26 Two A/C units were removed from behind a duplex on SW 14 Street.

June 26 A Hollywood man visiting a home on SW 6 Way was shot by three unknown black males who “appeared out of nowhere” and shot him as he tried to flee from his vehicle. Victim had one gunshot in his back, but his story changed frequently as deputies began to investigate.
