Aug. 8: During a verbal argument behind a BurgerFi, six men attacked two of the restaurant’s employees. One suspect produced a pistol and pointed it at the two men. The incident was reported at 2009 NE 2 St.

Aug. 8: A man reported his motorcycle stolen from 869 NW 47 St.

Aug. 8: A woman reported that someone entered her car parked at 2133 Discovery Cir. and stole a cell phone, iPod, earphone, computer programs and work-related papers.

Aug. 8: A man said his home at 650 SW 14 Pl. was entered and a gold ring, earrings and iPad were stolen.

Aug. 8: A woman said her bedroom at 2432 SW 15 St. was entered and $2,000 worth of jewelry stolen.

Aug. 6: The victim said a subject purchased $3,000 in furniture at a store at 5056 N. Federal Hwy. and agreed to pay for it, but never did.

Aug. 7: The victim said an ex-employee stole $4,000 from a business at 5040 N. Federal Hwy. in the past year.

Aug. 7: Someone attempted to use the victim’s personal info. to make charges to a bank account at 3550 N. Federal Hwy. The subject provided the victim’s name, date of birth and social security number. The victim was unaware of how the info. was obtained.

Aug. 1: It was reported that a handgun was stolen from a car parked at 1460 SW 11 Way.

Aug. 1: A man reported his 2016 Honda Accord was stolen from 1501 NW 45 St.

Aug. 1: A motor scooter was stolen from a home at 211 NW 38 Ct. The motor scooter was later recovered with parts missing.

Aug. 1: A man stole a purse from a vehicle parked at 1790 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and fled in another vehicle.

Aug. 1: A man reported his bicycle stolen from his carport at 1305 SE 3 Ave.

Aug. 3:  A home at 1977 SW 15 St. was burglarized and many items were stolen.

July 31: The victim, who lives at 5120 NE 31 Ave., said he lost his US passport in Canada while he was visiting.

 Aug. 1: Police and the victim responded to a fire alarm sounding at 4401 NE 31 Ave. and discovered it was set off by dust from work being done by a construction company.

 Aug. 1: A female subject stole sugar packages at a store at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. and stuffed them in groceries she already purchased. The items were valued at $7.17 and were recovered outside the store when the subject was apprehended.

July 25: Someone stole four tires and rims from a 2016 Honda Accord parked at 471 Lock Rd.

July 25: Someone entered a 2016 Honda Accord and stole $310 in cash and caused $1,000 in damage. The incident was reported at 127 Lock Rd.

July 25: Someone entered a car parked at 105 Deer Creek Rd. and stole a wallet, $400, a Florida driver’s license, credit cards, sunglasses and diamond earrings.

July 25: A woman reported that someone entered her yard at 195 SE 4 Ave. and stole a bicycle valued at $500.

July 27: A man was observed stealing $1,089 worth of merchandise from Target at 1200 S. Federal Hwy.

July 10: Police were responding to an alarm call to an open front door at 3801 NE 25 Ave. A proper code was entered and the call was cancelled.

July 12: The victim went to the police department at 2200 NE 36 St. and reported that her and her husband’s bank account may have been compromised. The victim said their credit card was used in Miami at a car assessor in the amount of $3,000. The victim believes the card may have been skimmed because they found additional charges the same day at restaurants and stores. They are not sure when the card may have been skimmed. 

July 14: A store employee at a store at 2474 N. Federal Hwy. said she discovered an empty bag that had three hair extensions in it. She believes a male and female subject may have taken them. She said earlier in the day a male subject was inquiring about hair extensions, while a female subject was in the area of the extensions at the same time.

July 18: A man was issued at Notice To Appear in court after being caught stealing multiple items from Walmart at 1101 S. Military Tr.

July 18: A man reported his home at 1300 SE 12 Terr. broken into. He reported a 55 in. TV, valued at $1,600, a laptop valued at $2,000, two credit cards and $1,500 in Norwegian currency stolen.

July 20: It was reported that two people broke into Expert Auto Group at 4301 N. Dixie Hwy. and stole $2,500 worth of auto parts.

July 20: A man reported his car stolen from 905 SE 13 Ct.

July 20: A woman reported her car parked at 1000 E. Hillsboro Blvd. was broken into and $100 in cash, a purse and credit cards were stolen.

July 5: A public works employee discovered a wallet at 3000 NE 52 St. and brought it to the police department.

July 6: Police were responding to an alarm call to motion in a master bedroom at 2421 NE 32 Ct. The alarm company reported that the resident called in a proper code.

July 8: The victim said he lost his wallet at a gas station at 5200 N. Federal Hwy.

July 11: A man was arrested and charged with aggravated battery. He attacked a pregnant woman that he knew. The incident was reported at 225 NW 1Terr.

July 11: A man was arrested and charged with three counts of retail theft of which one was felony grand theft at Publix at 3740 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

July 11: A woman was issued a Notice to Appear in court after stealing toddler crocs and Tupperware from Bealls at 1079 S. Federal Hwy.

July 11: Someone attempted to break into a home at 720 NW 42 Way. The individual was unable to enter.

July 11: Someone smashed a window to break into a home at 5140 E. Lakes Dr. and ransacked the home.

July 1: Police responded to a loose dog in the area of 4500 NE 24 Terr. The dog had returned home prior to police arriving.

July 1: A resident called police and said there were three females on his property at 2228 NE 25 St. that he did not know and wanted them trespassed. The subjects were gone when police arrived.

July 3: The victim said he was visiting a friend in Lighthouse Point and thought he ran over something around 2900 N. Federal Hwy. When he got home, he realized his dealer tag was missing.

Deerfield Beach Little League President Kathleen Williams was pleased with her program’s postseason results in the District 10 All-Star competition as the 50/70, Junior and Senior Division squads all finished as runner-up in the District 10 All-Star competition.

“The Deerfield Beach Little League is in their 60th year and still going strong,” Williams said. “This is the first time in 10 years that our 9/10s have gone more than two games in the district playoffs, so that shows growth.”

Deerfield Beach 9/10 manager Warren Fronte knew from the start that his group had a chance to reach the title game against North Springs; and, despite the defeat, he said the team battled during postseason play.

“Listen, they haven’t won anything in 13 years so to bring this to five wins and second place, we are more than happy,” Fronte said. “We are more than ecstatic. These kids are all champions in my book.”

“From Day 1, right from the get go, these kids put their hearts out and dominated our first team 25-8 and it was totally amazing,” Fronte said. “It was like, wow, we got a team.”

Selections of the 8-9-10 and 9-10-11 Deerfield Beach Little League All-Star teams came from eight teams in the league to pick from.

“It was a little tough with what we had to play with, but we got us some winners,” Fronte said.

“There will be lasting memories for the group,” Fronte noted.

“Hopefully, they learned to be a professional player as far as their age league goes,” Fronte said. “Hopefully, their parents see it the same. These are players. They are not just little kids playing little league. They are athletes.

“You could tell right off the bat which children pushed themselves to the max and a lot of them have,” he concluded. “They have their teammates backing them up and pushing them the rest of the way.”

The Deerfield Beach Little League fielded 25 teams during the regular season this year and 270 players.

“We limited the teams to 11 players so everybody got more playing time,” Williams said. “Next year, we are discussing going back to the Major Division, instead of just the 50/70 Division.”

In the in-house divisions, the River Bandits won the Farm Division; the White Caps won the Minor Division; Cubs won the 50/70 Division and Mets won the Junior Division.

Brown wins PBMGA Tourney

Chuck Brown carded a 65 and won a match of cards to take the Class A Division title in the Pompano Beach Men’s Golf Association tournament on the Pines Course at Pompano Beach Golf Course on July 12.

Brown was closest to the pin on the 15th hole when his tee shot wound up 12 ft., 11 in. from the hole.

Jim DeCicco, who also shot a net 65, was second in the Individual Class Play, while Tom Breur shot a 69 and won on a match of cards for that spot. In the Class B Division, Joe Patchen won with a 66, while Scott Feinman shot a 70 for second place and George Torres carded a 72 for third.

Richard Bell edged Dave Dowling by one shot in winning the Class C Division with a 68, while Bob Bridgman had a 71 for third.

July 4: A woman reported her apartment at 4371 SW 10 Pl. was entered and a camera valued at $3,500, a diamond ring valued at $2,000 and other items were stolen. She believes someone was able to gain access to a key to the apartment.

July 6: A woman reported her purse stolen from her unlocked vehicle at 495 SE 8 St.

July 7: A woman reported her car broken into and her purse stolen. The incident took place in the rear area of Publix at 3740 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

July 7: A man driving a pickup truck stole weeders and an edger from a location at 2943 S. Waterford Dr. The equipment was owned by Above All Landscaping.

July 9: A man reported his car stolen from 245 SW 2 Ct. The man left the keys in the ignition and went into a house at the location.

June 30: The manager of a store called police to report a verbal disturbance he was having with a subject outside the store at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. He wanted the subject trespassed from the store.

June 30: A man made a transaction at a bank and used his driver’s license to do so. He then made a purchase at a store at 3780 N. Federal Hwy. and took the cash out of the envelope and then threw the envelope in a trash can with the ID. He later realized what happened and returned back to the store and found that his license was not there.

June 30: The store manager said a subject stole a drug test kit and left the store at 3580 N. Federal Hwy. without paying for it. The subject left several items in the kit behind and fled the store on a bicycle.

June 26: A man reported his vehicle stolen. Someone took his car keys and then stole his car. The incident was reported at 540 NE 41 St.

June 27: A woman reported her purse stolen from her shopping cart at Deerfield Beach Walmart Neighborhood Market at 1101 S. Military Tr.

June 27: A woman was getting into her car at Bank of America at 1701 W. Hillsboro Blvd. A man approached her, demanded she get out of the car and then pulled her out of the car. The man then drove away in the car.

June 27: A woman reported her car stolen from her driveway at 4680 SW 12 Pl.

June 27: A man said another man entered his room at La Quinta Inn, at 351 W. Hillsboro Blvd., stole $300 in cash and a cell phone.

June 16: A car dealership employee said an internal audit of license plates revealed there was a license plate missing from the inventory at 2800 N. Federal Hwy.

June 17: The reportee said he caught a swordfish worth approximately $2,000 and placed it in a cooler on the dock at 3000 NE 48 Ct. and did not discover it missing until he finished fishing later that day. He contacted other people he was fishing with who said they did not take the fish. A short time later, the victim called police and told them an unidentified friend had played a prank or practical joke and the fish was located.

June 19: The victim said someone stole his cell phone while he was at a fast food restaurant located at 4800 N. Federal Hwy. The victim said he is homeless and ordered food while charging his phone at the outside seating. He sat down at a table and was using a tablet at the table and noticed his phone was missing. The loss was $75.

June 19: A man reported that he loaned a moped to a friend. This friend never returned the moped. The incident was reported at 218 SW 3 St.

June 20: An individual entered a 7-11 at 900 SW 10 St. and stole some cigarettes.

June 20: An individual entered a Marathon Gas Station at 299 W. Hillsboro Blvd. and stole three cases of beer.

June 22: A woman was observed on video surveillance stealing a water pump and a manhole cover from behind Pizzaria Brasil at 801 W. Sample Rd.

June 24: A suspect stole $857.82 worth of razors, perfume and hair irons from Target at 3599 W. Hillsboro Blvd. The suspect escaped into a mini-van being driven by another person.

June 7: The victim said she lost her wallet at a restaurant at 2002 NE 36 St. She realized she didn’t have it and returned to the restaurant to find that no one had returned it. There was no credit card activity.

June 9: The victim said he was staying at another residence at 2824 NE 23 Ave. and couldn’t locate his Rolex watch and diamond ring. The victim was in the process of moving back into his main residence and said he questioned the landlord, who said he did not see the jewelry. The loss was $10,000.

June 10: Someone removed the tag off of 2015 Lexus that was parked at 4421 NE 30 Terr.

June 13: Two people were arrested and charged with grand theft from Target at 1200 S. Federal Hwy. The two individuals worked together to steal $510.72 worth of electronics and clothing from Target.

June 13: A man reported that two women stole $40 from him at 225 NW 1 St.

June 13: A woman reported her purse stolen from her while she was at Bealls Outlet at 1079 S. Federal Hwy.

June 13: A woman reported her car stolen at 150 NE Eller St.

June 15: A man was arrested and charged with stealing merchandise from Home Depot at 60 SW 12 Ave.

Lighthouse Point

May 27: A 2015 Jeep SUV was rummaged through while it was parked at 4400 NE 27 Ave. The victim said the vehicle was unlocked and nothing appeared to be taken.

June 1: As an officer was on routine patrol, he came to a stop at the corner of a parking lot at 1821 NE 25 St. As he attempted to back out, the right bumper made contact with two metal poles that were part of a garbage enclosure causing three minor marks on the bumper.

June 2: As an officer was on routine patrol at 4800 NE 21 Terr., he encountered a small dog that did not have a collar or anyone in the area looking for him. The dog had a tracking chip and the dog’s owner was located.
