June 19: A man reported that his car was involved in an accident. Immediately following the accident someone stole shoes valued at $65 from his car. The incident was reported at 631 Anderson Cir.

June 19: A man reported that someone broke into his vehicle and stole $2,400 worth of tools at 3901 NW 9 Ave.

June 19: A woman reported that she paid $10,286 to an electrical contractor for work that was never done. The incident was reported at 4314 NW 9 Ave.

June 19: A man was arrested and charged with felony theft and two active warrants at Marshalls at 3852 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

June 19: A woman reported that someone stole her vehicle from an apartment parking lot at 466 Lock Rd.

June 6: The manager said a subject was walking around the store at 2450 N. Federal Hwy. for an hour. The subject then went into a bathroom and ate food. He told police he forgot his debit card and was waiting for his girlfriend to arrive to pay for it. The girlfriend arrived a short time later and paid for the items.

June 6: A subject took food items and left the store at 3780 N. Federal Hwy. The subject was apprehended outside the store and the food valued at $4 was recovered.

June 6: A male subject stole items from the store at 3780 N. Federal Hwy. and fled without paying for them.

June 12: It was reported that a former employee of Suddath Relocation at 1900 SW 43 Terr. did not return equipment valued at $440.

June 12: A man was arrested and charged with stealing $57.98 worth of items from TJ Maxx at 3812 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

June 12: A woman reported $452 worth of fraudulent charges on her credit card. She reported it at 1400 SE 8 Ave.

June 12: A man was issued a notice to appear after he was observed stealing $100 from a cash drawer at Office Depot at 270 S. Federal Hwy.

June 12: A man said that someone took out two fraudulent loans in his name. The loss was $40,000. He made the report at 827 Crystal Lake Dr.

June 6: A car came back as a stolen vehicle and when police stopped it at 2311 NE 36 St., it was discovered the tag was stolen and the subject claimed the car was recently purchased and he did not know the tag was stolen.

June 5: The victim said there was a threatening storm and he lost his paddleboard in the 3000 block of NE 31 Ave. A day later, it was recovered in another part of the city. The paddleboard was valued at $1,120.

June 5: The father said he let his son borrow his car as long as he made the registration and insurance payments. He said the son stopped making payments and then was ignoring the father asking for a return of the vehicle to 2630 NE 48 St. The father asked that the vehicle be reported as stolen.

Melcher Feliciano Jr. said the key to winning games in the District 10 Little League baseball playoffs is how you fare on the mound.

“You have to have five to seven pitchers,” said Feliciano Jr., who is the manager of the Deerfield Beach Little League Senior All-Star team. “Most of the guys can play all of the positions, but it’s very tough if you don’t have a lot of pitchers and catchers. It comes down to pitching.”

Deerfield Beach opened the Senior Division playoffs with an 8-1 setback against host North Springs Little League at North Community Park in Coral Springs. Shane Garner scored the lone run off a base hit from Anthony Davilla. North Springs won the United States National Championship last year in the Senior Division.

Feliciano Jr., who coached the Deerfield Beach Little League 50/70 team last year, said there is an adjustment between coaching the younger players and the Senior Division squad.

The Deerfield Beach Little League program features a little more than a dozen teams and just two teams in the Senior Division. In addition to playing each other, they also played against other area programs.

“Obviously we are trying to get a win in every game we play,” Feliciano Jr. said. There are five teams from the local league playing in the All-Star competition in the various divisions. “We spend a lot of time at practice working on communication and other things. Sometimes it’s very difficult because the kids can’t make the practice or something comes up at the last minute. We ended our season just one week before the All-Stars and that is a lot to go through in a week.”

Feliciano Jr. said they selected the best players from the two Senior Division teams in the Deerfield Beach Little League.

“The best ones make the cut,” Feliciano Jr. said. “We are trying to win the whole series and go to sectionals and make it to states.”

Feliciano Jr. said the speed of the game is a little quicker with the 50/70s because the bases are closer and the mound is closer.

“The ball comes faster to you in the field and the pitches are faster and you have to adjust to that,” Feliciano Jr. said. “With the Senior Division, the ball is pitched faster than the 50/70s, so I will throw mostly fastballs when I pitch batting practice. I will also hit the ball harder to the infield. We will also go (practice) four times a week.”

He said he would push the 50/70s as well.

“Sometimes I try and push them a little harder,” Feliciano Jr. said. “You can’t baby them. They get that feeling when they get to the next level, I don’t want them to crash and say, ‘I can’t do this anymore because it is too hard or too fast for me.’ I try and do the same thing with the seniors, the same method, and make it competitive.”

When Feliciano Jr. and his squad walked in the gate at North Community Park, they passed the national championship banner from 2017. He said it was not intimidating.

“This is a challenge for us,” Feliciano Jr. said. “I liked the kids’ attitude, work ethic and how they treat their teammates. They show good sportsmanship. There is nothing negative, and everything is positive.”

May 30: A man reported that someone stole his power tool case with a number of valuable tools inside. The incident was reported at 520 Deer Creek Jefferson Dr.

May 30: A woman was arrested for punching a woman at McDonalds at 300 W. Hillsboro Blvd. during an argument.

June 1: A woman reported that three storage units were broken into in a housing complex. She had been asked to check the units by the property manager. She is asking the owners of the units if anything is missing. The incident was reported at 4109 Oakridge V.

June 2: It was reported that someone stole a socket set from NAPA Auto Parts at 3801 W. Hillsboro Blvd.

May 11: The victim returned to her Lincoln MKX while it was parked at 3700 N. Federal Hwy. and noticed a crack in the driver’s side window. Nothing was taken and no entry was made.

May 11: The victim said someone filled out an application for a KIA at 4250 N. Federal Hwy., and the application was fraudulent and the vehicle was reported as stolen.

May 23: Someone smashed the front window of a vehicle while it was parked at 3116 N. Federal Hwy. The damage was $1,000.

May 22: A woman reported that her former boyfriend broke into her home at 5340 NE 10 Ave. The man attempted to drag her out of her home. The woman’s father came out of his bedroom with a bat and the man fled in a vehicle.

May 22: A man reported that someone he knows stole his laptop computer from 460 Deer Creek Jefferson Dr.

May 22: A man reported that his vehicle was stolen. It was broken into and the ignition was punched. The vehicle was later recovered in Homestead.

May 22: A woman reported that her car had been keyed at 321 NW 3 Ave.

May 27: A woman reported her Chrysler PT Cruiser stolen by her boyfriend at 170 SE 3 St.

May 8: The victim lost a wallet containing a driver’s license, $50 cash, five credit cards and an insurance card at 3701 NE 22 Ave. The loss was $131.

May 8: A subject asked the victim to reposition her shopping cart in the store at 3722 N. Federal Hwy. and the victim believes her purse was stolen at that time. The purse contained credit cards and $120 in cash.

May 10: The victim found her 2013 VW Passat was keyed at 2240 NE 36 St. The damage was estimated at $500.

May 14: A man reported his Honda Civic stolen overnight from 490 Lock Rd.

May 15: A man reported his air compressor stolen from his pickup truck at 4710 NE 2 Terr.

May 18: A man said his paycheck was rerouted to another account. The incident was reported at 201 E. Sample Rd.

April 27: A loose dog was found at 2400 NE 26 St. and brought to the police department. The dog did not have a collar. The dog did have a microchip; however, it was unregistered.

April 29: A wallet was found at 2845 Marina Cir. and was turned over to police.

April 29: Police responded to a disturbance at a restaurant at 4850 N. Federal Hwy. where a customer was in an argument over service he received. He was told that he could face arrest if he returned.

May 9: A man employed by Palm Atlantic Landscape Maintenance was reported to police for taking a company vehicle and not returning it. The incident was reported at 2040 NW 40 Ct.

May 9: A woman reported that someone entered her car parked at 3325 SW 2 St. and stole $320.

May 10: A woman reported that someone attempted to break into her house at 1248 SW 48 Terr. A broken window was reported.

May 10: A man reported that his home at 1063 Lyndhurst H was burglarized and 12,000 baseball cards were stolen.

May 10: Someone broke into Audio Tint Performance and Professionalism at 2501 W. Sample Rd. and stole $3,000 and an Apple Computer.

April 22: The victim said a female smashed the front windshield of his girlfriend’s car at 4270 NE 23 Terr. The subject admitted to the crime.

April 22: Police responded to an alarm call at a residence emanating from the kitchen area at 2331 NE 31 Ct. It was a false alarm.

April 23: A co-worker told the victim that her driver’s side window was down and there was glass on the ground. The victim said her purse was stolen from the floorboard at 2458 N. Federal Hwy. It contained an Epi-Pen, body lotions and sprays. The loss was $120.

May 1: A woman reported that $5,823 worth of jewelry was stolen from her home at 1866 Deer Creek Wildwood Tr.

May 4: A woman reported that $10,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from her bedroom at 1025 SE 8 Ct. She said that several people have access to her home.

May 5: A man was observed stealing a pair of shoes from Bealls at 1079 S. Federal Hwy.

April 18: A Verizon account was opened in the victim’s name and a charge of $178.04 was made at 4200 block of NE 22 Terr.

April 20: A loss prevention officer observed a subject take $79.99 in fragrances and leave the store at 3722 N. Federal Hwy. without paying for them.

April 21: A subject stole $1,736 in cash that was hidden under a mattress at the 4200 block of NE 22 Avenue. The victim is moving into a condo and said there were several strange occurrences happening and was unsure how the money disappeared.

April 13: The victim said she may have left a fanny pack on the roof of her vehicle and drove away after purchasing gas at the gas station at 4900 N. Federal Hwy. It contained $5,349.50 worth of property.

April 17: A resident called the police to tell them there was a snake inside the residence at 3941 NE 31 Ave. Police came and removed the reptile.

April 17: A neighbor found a loose dog at 2140 NE 42 Ct. and it was brought into the department and placed in a kennel until the owner could be located.
