ObserverTV will stream in spin alley LIVE from Presidential debate in Boca

Posted on 24 September 2012 by JLusk

Boca Raton, FL —  ObserverTV a division of The Observer Newspaper, celebrates its 50th year of publishing in Broward County, Florida by being  the premiere online broadcaster at the final 2012 Presidential debate to be held on Oct 22, at Lynn University.

“We are one of less than 25 newspapers in the US with the technology to stream live the proper way” said Jim Lusk, Vice President of The Observer.  “Our platform is very similar to TV broadcasting. We can punch multiple cameras

and locations live, all from a laptop. We can even run commercials during the broadcast. We have been streaming since early 2006, before it was cool,”said Lusk.

Visit www.observernewspaperonline.com to watch the presidential debate live and behind the scenes.

Hail in Deerfield Beach

Posted on 15 June 2012 by JLusk

–By Rachel Galvin–

At approximately 2:50 p.m. on June 15, locals were surprised by the  ping of hailstones hitting the ground, bouncing up on the doors and windows of buildings and vehicles as a severe storm swept through Deerfield Beach moving southward. Although the front was swift, it left residents in awe, running to their windows, for those who heard it, and going outside.

“I haven’t seen hail like this since I don’t know when,” said one resident.

The hail stones were about dime size and smaller at The Observer, but it was reported that it was golf ball size in other areas.  See video on ObserverTV.

Dogs Rule Booth attracts crowd at Green Market

Posted on 26 March 2012 by JLusk

Every day, in Broward County alone, hundreds of dogs are euthanized. In November of 2010 Dogs Rule Rescue was born, started by, Lisa Congemi and a small committed group of  animal lovers. DRRG a non-profit 501(c)3, all volunteer organization, based here in Deerfield Beach.

Their mission is to save the lives of homeless and abandoned dogs from high-kill shelters that would otherwise be euthanized and find them loving and forever homes, along with educating the public on the importance of spay and neuter.

To date they have rescued and found homes for over 125 dogs, and they are just getting started. That is an incredible number of lives saved considering DRRG relies solely on donations and foster homes. All DRRG dogs are spayed and neutered, micro chipped, fully vaccinated and given any medical care needed before being adopted.

Any pet landing in a rescue means it has been through some type of traumatizing situation, each prospective person looking to adopt is screened to find the best possible match for both the dog and adopter to ensure the pet finds it’s forever home.

Lisa credits her core supporters and rescue partners, John Prichard, Phyllis Pastore, Stephanie Mink, Donna Wiles and Frank Congemi for getting this organization off to such a successful start. Stray Aid Spay and Neutering Clinic has also been key by providing low cost services for the dogs.

Exclusive Story about this dog coming next week in The observer
